in class i gave you the name of a known/not-well-known dance pioneer. use the links below and two different book references to answer the following questions:
1) what was their real name and their stage name?
2) what was their technical background?
3) was there a time in their life where they chose to stay dancing or go against the grain of the norm?
4) did they perform in a company? did they start their own company? if so, what was the name, year it began and other "big names" in dance who may have performed with them or in their company?
5) what are five major facts we should know about him/her?
6) what is a little known fact about him/her?
please answer these questions and come prepared to class to give a 2-3 minute presentation about them in class as well as a 2-3 page paper answering these questions with the references to where you found the information. any pictures you'd like to bring of them will be welcome!

i just finished looking up all the info for the dancers with the links that you gave...they were great!! the info that you have provided through the links will make them excited and interested about the person you will assign them. i know it!!! i read through all of them and it makes me want to change my major!!! dance rocks! i never thought that learning about dance instead of learning how to dance could be so interesting. but i guess we always need to get back to our roots ;)
